03/09/22 General Kenobi

I figured I'd do collage picture showing the graded books I own for the Obi Wan Kenobi show since a trailer should be released any....day...now..... I'll include the spec related info for each book below in case anyone was curious why I picked up some of these.

There isn't a comic on here I didn't start purchasing before they were mentioned on any spec site or app so some of these may not have much and/or ever get any heat like "1st Ewan McGregor version of Obi-Wan" since I've never seen this mentioned anywhere outside of my Ebay listings. A couple places even continue to refuse to believe Star Wars #1 isn't the first appearance of Obi-Wan Kenobi....🤣.

Comic Pack Dark Horse reprint - Only interesting because it's the only Dark Horse comic-size reprint of Star Wars #2. I actually subbed the first 9.8 on the census. I don't really expect this to sell for much though despite being relatively hard to find 9.8 candidates of since they came packaged behind action figures.

Star Wars #24 - Obi-Wan cover and 1st non-canon story of Obi-Wan.

Star Wars Legacy #16 - Nice Obi-Wan cover.

Phantom Menace #1 - 1st Ewan McGregor version of Obi-Wan.

Attack of the Clones #1 - 1st Hayden Christensen version of Anakin Skywalker.

Kanan #12 - Cameo of the Grand Inquisitor

Darth Vader #6 - 1st full appearance of the Grand Inquisitor and 1st app of multiple Inquisitors

Barring a flashback, I don't see any reason to believe the Second Sister will be in the Kenobi show since she died before the show takes place. That being said, the books are getting some hype due the show so I figured I'd include them.

Darth Vader #19 - Single panel cameo of the Second Sister.

Fallen Order #1 - Full appearance of the Second Sister.

Fallen Order #5 - HTF incentive variant with the Second Sister on the cover.

BONUS INFO: I had a Star Wars #2 CGC 9.8 I had purchased graded and a raw copy I subbed which came back a 9.8. I sold both about a year ago which was moronic because, as you can see, I did really believe in the comic. This and selling my Clone Wars #1s, Vader #3 variants, Star Wars #42s, X-Men #10 9.2, etc., too early has made me rethink how I approach the selling of significant keys like this. I of course had no idea the books would blow up like they did AFTER I sold them and I was more than happy with the profit at the time, but it really makes no sense to sell significant keys like this early to buy other books that don't have a chance of appreciating more than the books one is selling.

As an example, I have a couple key very high grade CGC Doctor Doom books I could sell for 5-10x what I paid for them. But since Doctor Doom hasn't been announced or confirmed to be in the MCU yet, it doesn't make any sense to sell them in order to put the money into comics that likely won't have the relative certainty of equally or greater monetary gains than the arrival of Doom in the MCU will.

Did that make sense? I don't know. In my head it did...
